Instead of 14 preliminary phase games there will be 94 games, i.e. 18 with each franchise unlike 14 in the past. The window time remains to that of 45 days.
The first 2 days (12th and 13th March) of IPL 2010 will collide with final stages of Hockey’s world cup, to be held in New Delhi. Organizers of 2010 Hockey World Cup fear that their final day might go virtually unnoticed.

The governing council has decided to include 2 more franchise for the season 4 to be held in 2011.
Northants cannot play in Champions League: Modi
August 11, 2009
Mumbai (PTI) Irrespective of whether they make it to the final of England’s domestic Twenty20 tournament or not, Northamptonshire cannot play in October’s Champions T20 League in India as the county side still have three Indian Cricket League players, League chairman Lalit Modi said today.
Modi said Northants still have in their ranks three former South Africa players — Nicky Boje, Andrew Hall and Van der Wath — who have not severed their connection with the ‘rebel’ Indian Cricket League.
“Champions League rules are very clear that no team with players connected to any unauthorised cricket can be a part of it. Northants will be disqualified from the League if they enter the final (of England domestic T20 cricket) and there would be a vacant slot,” he said.
Kingsmead - Durban
April 18, 2009
Location Durban
Established ~1939
Seating capacity 25,000
Home team(s) KwaZulu-Natal, Natal
End names Umgeni End, Old Fort End
Sahara Stadium Kingsmead is a Cricket ground in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Its current stated capacity is 25,000, although grass terracing makes up part of the viewing area. The End names are the Umgeni End (north) and the Old Fort Road End (south). It is the home ground of the KwaZulu-Natal Dolphins.
It has been renowned as a seamers wicket, and there is also a famous myth regarding how the tide affects batting conditions, as the ground is quite close to the beach. Many batting collapses in matches in the past have been blamed on changes in the tide, but nobody has been able to prove this theory.
It is the stadium used every other year for the finish of the Comrades Marathon, an ultramarathon run annually between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. Because the run alternates directions each year, it only finishes in Durban in odd-numbered years. The ground is named Sahara which is the trademark of a sponsor from the IT industry.
Yuvraj Singh scored 36 runs from Stuart Broads over becoming the first cricketer to do so in Twenty20 Cricket. India were unbeaten on this ground during the ICC Twenty20 World Championship.
