Manish Pandey banned for four matches

February 5th, 2011

IPL governing council  has banned Manish Pandey from playing first four matches in IPL 2011 after an investigation lead by a complain by the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. Although he is permitted to play for the  Pune franchise, team he preferred to play with.

RCB had complained that Pandey was demanding more salary than prescribed limit from teams. It was found that pandeys agents were negotiating with multiple franchises for higher pay.

Getting in touch with rival teams and demanding higher salary seems to breach councils guidelines for players.

B CCI statement said. “He can’t play the first four matches. As desired by him, he is permitted to play for the Pune franchise.”
