MUMBAI clinch thriller at home, beat Punjab by 4 wickets

Mumbai Indians moved closer to their semi final spot with an all round team performance against the Kings XI Punjab.

Going into the match, Punjab desperately needed a win to stay alive in IPL3. MI, on the other hand, looked for a victory to become the first team to book a semi-final spot.

Ravi Bopara was dismissed early in the innings, Leg Before by Zaheer Khan.

Punjab kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Bhajji took a magnificent catch to dismiss Irfan Pathan.

Yuvraj Singh looked jaded and a shadow of his own self. His poor run at IPL3 continued and he was dismissed for just 2 runs by Bravo.

Shaun Marsh was the top scorer for Kings XI at 57 from 47 balls. He was brilliantly yorked by Malinga who bowled superby.

The Kings were bowled out for 163 in their 20 overs.

Malinga, who returned figures of 4-22 from his became the joint leading wicket taker of IPL with his Sri Lankan Counterpart and Chennai Super Kings bowler Mutthiah Muralitharan.

Mumbai Indians started off their innings as usual, smooth and quick. Sachin looked at his sublime best as Mumbai got off to a good start. Soon Sachin became the owner of the orange cap (highest scorer of the IPL). He was dismissed by Piyush Chawla, this time without scoring a half century.

Pollard, promoted to no. 3, got off to a jittery start, but soon got to hitting huge, effortless-looking Maximums.

The MI youngsters again stood up to be counted, with Shikhar Dhawan scoring a half century from 40 balls and Saurabh Tiwary making a fighting 31 off 23 balls.

Brett Lee scored the winning runs for Mumbai (literally) by bowling a wide and Mumbai won the match by 4 wickets and 3 balls to spare.

The Mumbai Indians Juggernaut continues to roll !!
