“So near yet so far” for Rajasthan Royals at Brabourne as they lose by 4 runs to Mumbai Indians

Thanks to a brilliant 37 ball century by Yusuf Pathan, the second fastest in T20′s, Rajasthan Royals almost snatched a miraculous victory from Mumbai Indians.

Sachin and Jayasuriya got Mumbai Indians off to a flyer after they won the toss and chose to bat. Saurabh Tiwary (53 off 33 balls) and Ambati Rayudu (55 off 33 balls), who switched from the ICL to IPL this year, scored brilliant half centuries to take the MI score to 212/6.

Rajastan Royals, in their innings got off to a disastrous start and were struggling at 66/4 in the tenth over.

Enter Yusuf Pathan, who was at his marauding best as he belted MI bowlers for a 37 ball 100, which included 8 sixes and 9 fours.

He was brilliantly run out by R Sathish, which proved to be the turning point of the match.

Dogra scored a fighting 41 off 29 balls but got run out in the first ball of the last over when they required 12 runs to win. The Royals finished tantalizingly close to the MI total at 208/7, losing the match by 4 runs.
